For several years, J. Benton team members have participated in Kayak for Kids, navigating the waters via kayaks and paddleboards from Cane Bay to Fort Frederick, St. Croix, in support of the Queen Louise Home for Children. All proceeds support this residential foster care program that provides a home with love and care to children in the Virgin Islands who have been abused, abandoned, neglected or have severe disabilities and special medical needs.

CFVI was created to serve both donors and nonprofit organizations of the Virgin Islands that want to ensure the highest quality of life for both present and future generations. Its primary goal is to build a growing collection of permanent funds, from which the income is disbursed to institutions and programs whose purpose is to enhance the educational, physical, social, cultural and environmental well-being of the islands’ people.

CFVI’s grant-making from unrestricted sources focuses on innovative programs and projects that show promise of developing into longer-term responses to the needs of children, youth and families in the Virgin Islands.

For more than 30 years, the St. Croix Foundation has been serving the community of St. Croix. The Foundation develops programs and spearheads comprehensive initiatives to tackle controversial public policy issues, prodding and leading our community toward progress and innovation. J. J. Benton Construction assembled two teams to participate in the first event of its kind under Governor Bryan. This annual charity golf tournament benefits Coral Reef Academy, the only school in the U.S. Virgin Islands dedicated to children with autism. They are passionate about providing an exceptional educational experience for students with autism and developmental disabilities.
