DIAGEO USVI, Captain Morgan Distillery Buildings
St. Croix, USVI
DIAGEO selected J. Benton as the Design/Builder to work closely with their laboratory team and develop a suitable space for their operations. On a fast-track schedule, J. Benton designed a suitable, efficient layout for their microbiology and chemistry labs, featuring a fume hood, eye wash stations and specialty cabinetry to house their equipment. The building also incorporates necessary warehouse space, a spare parts area, shop, boiler control room, restrooms and a loading ramp and platform.
In addition, due to our extensive self-perform capabilities, we were contracted by Tomsa Destil from Madrid, Spain and URCVI/Haskell to complete numerous civil projects on the DIAGEO campus. The scope of work included foundations for two, four-million gallon molasses tanks, external pipe racks, cooling tower foundations, concrete curbs and sidewalks and concrete paving. Since the initial distillery construction, DIAGEO has contracted us for a number of additional civil projects over the years. We won the DIAGEO North America Supplier Award for Strategic Project of the year in 2011!
