UVI School of Nursing, Renovation
St. Thomas, USVI
J. Benton was tasked with transforming 6400 square feet of destruction caused by Hurricane Irma in 2017 at the University of Virgin Islands’ School of Nursing into a structure that would withstand future natural disasters. After demolition and removal projects, there were many renovations to breathe life back into this building – ADA-compliant bathrooms installed for improved accessibility, new tile throughout floors and showers for greater appeal and comfortability, acoustical ceilings replaced with more modern designs; even exterior painting included custom staining work. Additionally, an impressive urethane flooring addition came down the main corridor accompanied by landscaping upgrades, including sidewalks, to add further beauty plus practicality as if seemed like nothing had ever happened.
